Why I’m Building Blavami

Founder Notes · 2026-06-20
Blavami started with a question that felt almost too obvious:
Why are we still shipping body wash in heavy bottles full of water?
That question stayed with me because body wash is such a normal product. Most of us do not think about it very much. We buy a bottle, put it in the shower, use it, throw it away, and buy another one.
But once you notice the format, it starts to feel strange.
The product is used with water. It lives in a wet environment. And yet we ship it as a finished liquid, inside a bottle, through a supply chain, all the way to someone’s bathroom.
There has to be a smarter version of that ritual.
I did not want to build an “eco compromise”
The idea was never to make a product that people use only because they feel guilty.
That does not work.
A body wash is intimate and sensory. It touches your skin. You smell it in the steam. You feel it between your hands. You notice whether it spreads, whether it lathers, whether it rinses, and whether it makes the shower feel better or worse.
So Blavami cannot just be “less waste.” It has to feel good enough to choose.
The ambition is simple: a lower-waste format that still feels premium.
Powder is the beginning, not the whole idea
Powder is useful because it lets us rethink the system.
Instead of shipping a bottle already filled with water, Blavami starts as a concentrated powder. You add water at home, shake it in a reusable bottle, and create the finished body wash closer to the moment of use.
That creates several opportunities:
- less water weight shipped
- a reusable bottle ritual
- smaller refills
- easier travel
- less leakage risk before mixing
- a product that feels different from the usual plastic-bottle routine
But powder alone is not enough. The product has to become something beautiful after water is added.
That is the hard part.
The shower should still feel like a ritual
I do not want Blavami to feel like a science experiment.
The preparation step should feel clean and intentional. The bottle should look good in the shower. The hydrated wash should feel smooth, easy to spread, and satisfying to use.
The brand should feel warm, modern, and elevated — not preachy, not clinical, not overly crunchy.
That is why the world of Blavami is Barcelona meets Miami: Mediterranean blue, warm sun, movement, design, and daily ritual.
Built carefully
Blavami is currently prelaunch.
That means the first product is still being tested and refined. We are looking at powder flow, hydration, texture, lather, spreadability, rinse feel, fragrance, bottle usability, and packaging.
We are also being careful with claims.
Blavami is not a medical product. It is not positioned to treat skin conditions. It is not claiming to be perfect or impact-free. The more honest language is that Blavami is designed to reduce water weight, intended to reduce reliance on single-use plastic when used as designed, and built around a reusable bottle ritual.
That is less flashy. It is also more credible.
Why now
Body wash is ready for a format change.
People are already used to concentrated products, refills, tablets, powders, and better-designed daily routines. They want less waste, but they do not want worse products. They want things that feel beautiful and practical at the same time.
That is the space Blavami is trying to occupy.
Not a body wash that asks you to give something up.
A body wash that asks a better question:
What if the water could be added at home?
